Bleat of me

By Sumaiya Shorif Moon

I no more search for who I am,

The soul that has become a lamb.

I hear no inner me,

I answer only in bleat.

The soul of me is locked away,

I fear nothing, it is okay.

Every scroll sings a song,

My heart bells ding dong.

Am I a human or became thee,

You have captured all of me.

Once the soul that bloomed in the green,

Now is poisoned by your gleam.

I don’t wake to the sparrows call,

But to glowing screen,

I hope that speaks all.

This sky in the morning feels very fake,

A filter in my eyes,

I swear my heart did not make.

Yet I smile every day

And I have become the lamb of play.
